Latin-Jazz and fusion from the guts (spanish: “barriga”) and the brains.
Apart from classical compositions and modern tunes from Ray Obiedo, Dave Samuels, Paquito D´Rivera, Andy Narrell and other well-known greats of the vivid afro-cuban jazz scene the band presents original compositions from saxophonist/flutist/clarinetist Dietrich Koch and from pianist Hein Schneider. The latter and his brother Gerald Schneider on marimba are the founders of the band, which works consistantly since 2004. The rhythmic groundwork is done by Wolfgang Grönlund (bass), Olly Pöschke (percussion) and Kevin McLaughlin (drums).

GIACOMO AULA & DIETRICH KOCH
Contemporary Jazz

In their duo Giacomo Aula (piano) and Dietrich Koch (saxes, flute, clarinet) play compositions by Giacomo Aula, Enrico Pieranunzi and choice standards, with a focus on less known compositions by the pianist Bill Evans. Their performance impresses by its interaction, its virtuosity, its drive, lyrical melodic arcs and intoxicating collective improvisations.
Giacomo Aula, originating from Lagonegro (South Italy), lives in Berlin for eight years. In the last four years he made six tours through the USA, where he was heard together with jazz greats like Phil Markowitz, Kenny Werner, Steve Gadd, Peter Erskine, Larry Schneider, Ernie Watts a.m.o.
